My dc encounter

What a trip!!!! I am headed back home after a wonderful week of being in DC telling the stories of our people the Kituwah-Cherokee. I had such a wonderful time because my daughter, Stevi, got to go with me. I always enjoy spending time with my children. I had programs Wed-Fri for DOT, VA, and FCC. Its a good thing that these departments are doing since November is American Indian awareness month. It was just the foot in the door that I needed. I got an invite back to perform so I am truly blessed. I want to thank my good friend Tiffany Lewis for the hook-up, you the best girl. I enjoyed every part of this trip and look forward to my return trip.

Some of the most memorable moments were when Stevi and I got chased off the White House lawn, next time they better not leave the gate open….aye!!! It was funny I was like “WHAT???” and we just walked off laughing. Then we walked down the block and bout got run over by the President and his motorcade it was cool and all, but dang Prez we peoples to!!!! LOL!!!! We didin’t get to visit all that we wanted to but that just leaves something for us to do when we get back to visit. I did do things my way though. Tiffany and everyone else kept telling me to ride the Metro, whatever!!!! I drove downtown and I almost pulled a classic Choogie by running out of gas DOWNTOWN!!!! It was so funny!!!! The Lord blessed me even in finding a place to park because it ain’t easy trying to find a parking spot but the Lord made a way so that I found a parking spot in front of every venue I was performing at, ain’t GOD GOOD?!?!?!

We slowly heading home so I want to say thank you to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Father God for such a blessing. Thank you to all those that have lifted up prayers for me and Stevi during our travels and for letting us crash at your house or feeeding us, you have no idea how much that means to me, taht for you Tina, MomFeather, and Tiffany.

Many blessings to those that I love and think about and Mom you are such an inspiration, I love you. To you know who I miss you and love you and pray for you always. You are always in my heart and mind. I love you Sweetness.
